Mr. Carlson is an attorney in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office of The Stark Firm. Matt has extensive experience representing commercial lending institutions, including major regional and national banking institutions, in the financing and management of commercial real estate, including SBA loans, construction term, mezzanine and revolving loan facilities, loan syndications and participations, loan restructurings and refinancings, debtor-in-possession financing, judicial foreclosures, and the leasing, management and sale of properties acquired through foreclosure, out-of-court workouts and related restructurings, creditor’s rights, dealer financing, Article 9 sales, evictions, post-judgment recovery, chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy related matters and various domestic and international commercial real estate transactions, including all related litigation. He also focuses his practice on assisting clients in the preparation of all variety of commercial real estate contracts and forms, including office and retail leasing contracts.
Matt is a member of the Pennsylvania State Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in all state courts throughout the State of Pennsylvania, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Carlson graduated from Dartmouth College (A.B.), University of Connecticut (M.A.) and Villanova University School of Law (J.D.) in the top 10% of his class.
Prior to joining The Stark Firm, Matt represented financial institutions, private equity funds and other institutional investors in commercial real estate and credit facility transactions in Wilmington, Delaware as an associate at the law firm of Richards, Layton & Finger, P.A. Previously, he also worked on Wall Street and the Philadelphia Stock Exchange as a proprietary stock and option trader.
