Steve Biegenzahn manages the firm’s Los Angeles office. He is a skilled attorney with excellent educational credentials, a diverse practice experience, and an impeccable reputation. He specializes in bankruptcy, complex loan restructuring and financing, capital markets, financing and management of commercial real estate, commercial zoning matters, asset-based lending, foreclosures and the leasing, management and sale of properties through foreclosures, workouts, commercial litigation, loan related litigation, SBA transactions, SBA creditor’s rights, SOP interpretation, regulatory compliance issues, and corporate governance.
His representation includes national and regional banking institutions in primarily real estate, retail, office and multifamily, dealer financing, and commercial and industrial transactions. He has represented hundreds of corporate and individual debtors, and has confirmed reorganization plans in scores of bankruptcy cases in various industries. He has done in- and out-of-court workouts, appeared before all district bankruptcy judges, and has also done state and federal court litigation and appellate work before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Several cases have taken him to federal courts in Colorado, Delaware, Michigan, Oklahoma, the District of Columbia, and New York.
Steve has served as a court-appointed mediator for the past 23 years. He was also named a “Super Lawyer” from 2012 through 2020, a distinction bestowed on fewer than 5% of lawyers.
Steve graduated in the Arts and History from Stanford University. Thereafter, he graduated from Stanford Law School with his JD. He holds mediation certification from the Pepperdine School of Law, Strauss Institute. He is a member of the State Bar of California, and is also admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Military Appeals and all U.S. District Courts in California. Steve is a certified mediator and member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the California Bankruptcy Forum.
